What is the Micah 6 Advocacy Project?

The mission of the Micah 6 Advocacy Project is to raise awareness of social justice needs in our community by following the word of God: To act justly, show friendship and walk humbly.

We do this through the following main actions:
-Education and awareness
-Strengthening relationships with community partners
-Engagement in advocacy as needed
-Emphasis on community outreach through acts of love

Isaiah 117 House

Representatives from the Sevier County branch of Isaiah 117 House spoke during both of our worship services on June 6th. In response to the foster care crisis in Sevier County, their organization is building an Isaiah 117 House as a place for children to stay and sleep while awaiting foster placement. The Micah 6 Advocacy Project intends to partner with Isaiah 117 House to stay apprised of the house's needs and assist in whatever ways we can going forward. The next meeting of the Micah 6 Advocacy Project is August 1st, at 12:30pm. We'll be reading a book called, Bridges Out of Poverty, and discussing a partnership project with the Missions Committee. All are welcome!
